Multiple Workout Stations
At this price range, you start to see home gyms designed with one fixed workout station where you can perform all of your exercises. This isn’t ideal because to get a good burn, you want your station specifically designed for the workouts that you’re performing. Well, even at this price Body-Solid is still providing you with three distinctly different workout stations. There’s a station for presses, pulldowns and leg extensions. There’s another for flies and a third station for rows. Each of these stations is well designed an excellent workout.
Weight Stack
The Body-Solid Strength Tech EXM2500S Home Gym provides a 210 lb weight stack for all of its exercises. While this is plenty of weight for most exercises this gym offers, there are some people out there that this wouldn’t be enough weight for. Higher-end machines will provide systems that increase the resistance for these exercises. For a bigger weight stack gym, you can expect to pay about $1,000 more for this upgrade. Another option would be to look at resistance rod home gyms like the Bowflex Xtreme 2SE Home Gym. These gyms often provide more resistance than typical weight stack gyms.
Lower Body Options
Another consideration with the StrengthTech EXM2500S Home Gym is the lack of lower body workout options. You get some basic leg extension and curl options to work the legs but not much else. While at this price range you can expect to lose some workout options, there are home gyms that will provide good lower body exercises.
